Overview of the tour in Paris
Until August 11, Paris hosts the Olympic Games, so there could be some alterations to our itineraries.
Rive Gauche in Paris is home to one of the liveliest and most peculiar districts of Paris, known for its lively restaurants and cafes, its intense cultural life and its important historical past. Discover it with our Tour Latin Quarter of Paris.
The neighbourhood receives this characteristic name from the University of Sorbonne, whose students and professors used to communicate in Latin during medieval times. This scenario played a key role during the "May French", which we will remember while our guide in Spanish explains the student revolts of May '68.
The bubbling university life favoured the presence of cinemas, theatres, book stores and concert halls, such as the Odéon Theatre or the cafés of Saint-Germain-des-Près. They brought together the intellectuals, artists and famous people of the time, which gave the neighbourhood a very cultural identity.
In the Latin Quarter of Paris you can also find other architectural treasures, such as the old churches of Saint-Séverin or Saint Sulpice, the Cluny Museum, the famous Pantheon or the Luxembourg Gardens.
