Overview
We will meet at the appointed time at the Place de l'Opera to begin this evening walking tour of Paris.
The Opera building or National Academy of Music, also known as the Palais Garnier, will be the first point of interest on our route. There we will review the history of this emblematic building of the French capital.
We will continue along the Boulevard des Capucines to the church of the Madeleine. From here we will approach the Place de la Concorde, where the famous Avenue des Champs Elysees begins.
Then, we will go down to the monumental complex formed by the Grand and Petit Palais to cross the Seine by the Pont Alexandre III. From this place we will get a fantastic view of the dome of the Invalides. Under it is the sarcophagus of Napoleon Bonaparte.
We will continue along the banks of the Seine to pass by the Pont de l'Alma, scene of the tragic accident where Princess Diana of Wales died.
