Overview
I invite you to explore the heart of Paris on foot, visiting both well-known spots and lesser-known gems.
We’ll start at the flower market on the Île de la Cité before heading to Notre-Dame. There, I’ll talk about the cathedral and Victor Hugo’s Paris. Just a few steps away, the Conciergerie and the Sainte-Chapelle will take us back to the palace of the kings of France, and then to the days of the Revolution.
We’ll then head to the Pont-Neuf, associated with Henry IV, and the Louvre, which served in turn as a fortress and a royal palace. Behind its facades, another history of Paris unfolds: that of power, its ambitions, and its transformations.
We’ll conclude at the Palais-Royal. Its gardens and galleries will offer a final glimpse into the capital’s political and literary life, notably featuring Alexandre Dumas. Throughout the walk, we’ll also see how Haussmann reshaped Paris in the 19th century.
The tour lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes. It takes place entirely outdoors, with no entry into the monuments.
