Free Literary Tour of Paris: Writers and Cafes
Overview
This tour takes you through Saint-Germain-des-Prés, where writers like Hemingway, Baudelaire, Cortázar, Simone de Beauvoir or Oscar Wilde lived, loved, obsessed... and created their most intense works.
This is not a tour to see plaques. It is to feel.
We will walk through cafes where ideas were born, hotels with literary secrets, and bridges that inspired novels. We will visit places like Shakespeare & Company, Saint Sulpice Church (yes, the one in the Da Vinci Code), Le Procope, Les Deux Magots, L'Hôtel (Wilde's last resting place), and the Pont des Arts (Cortázar's).
Throughout the walk, we will relive fragments of books in the places that gave them life. Anecdotes, emotions, and connections that you won't find in the textbooks.
If you ever read with your soul, this tour is for you.
It's not a literature class. It's an emotional journey.
A way to walk through Paris... between the lines.
This activity includes:
- Place Pierre Lafue
- Guía de habla española
On arrival

Things to note
Important information you should know before booking the tour (it will only take you 1 minute to read it).
1 - We need at least six people to do the tour.
2 - If you come with children under 14 years old, it is not necessary to make a reservation for them. A maximum of 1 child (<14 years old) per adult is allowed.
3 - Come 10 minutes before the tour start time. Your guide will be happy to chat with you for a while ;)
4 - The guide cannot wait more than 5 minutes out of respect for the rest of the group. After this courtesy time and if we do not hear from you, your reserved spot(s) may be given to another person(s) interested in participating in the tour.
5 - Our freelance guide pays a commission for each person registered for the tour. Please cancel your reservation if you cannot come at that time (it would be a real shame).
You can cancel your reservation without any problem in the confirmation email you received. If you can't find it, look in the "spam" or "junk" folder.
With this simple action, you will be able to make the freelance tour guide enjoy a better salary :)
6 - Remember that you are participating in the VOLUNTARY free tour. Neither Paris Step by Step Tours nor the tour guides will be responsible for any physical injury, damage, theft, or loss of personal items during the tours.
The tour guide reserves the right to refuse participation in the tour to anyone at any time during the term.
7 - A reservation is considered a "show" (you have come on the tour) if you stay until the end. If, for any reason, you run out of time or do not feel like appreciating the work of the guide, please cancel your reservation as we indicated in point 5 so that it does not count as a "no show".
8 - Leave us a phone number (with your country code) so we can reach you during your stay, ONLY (and only) IN CASE OF NEED.
Free Cancellation
You are free to cancel a booking anytime. We kindly remind you to cancel bookings you cannot arrive for. Being reported as absent decreases your customer level points and the benefits you can enjoy.
