Europe Biggest Chinatown Free Tour: Mysterious Side of the City
Overview
Located in Paris 13th, this vibrant enclave begun his grow in the 70s, following the waves of migration from Indochina. It has evolved into a Chinatown where tradition meets modern urban art.
We will discover together:
Iconic Landmarks: Panhard-Levassor building, France's first automaker in early industrial era.
Feast for the Senses: We’ll wander across the legendary Tang Hypermarket, a treasure trove of exotic fruits, multiple asian products and fragrant spices.
Hidden Spirituality: Explore the futuristic Olympiade complex, visit a serene Teochew temple, and a "secret" Buddhist underground place.
Monumental Street Art: Marvel at world-class, building-sized murals that have turned this district into an open-air museum.
We’ll stop at a local pastry shop, where you will be able to discover unique flavors. You might dare to try the Durian cake! You’ll also learn about the Bánh Mì, the delicious Vietnamese twist on the classic Parisian sandwich.
Our journey concludes at the unique church N-D de Chine, surrounded by impressive street art masterpieces.

On arrival
I’ll be waiting for you in front of the McDonald’s on Avenue de Choisy. It’s located just 40 meters from the Porte de Choisy station (Metro line 7 and Tramway T3a).
Important: Metro line 7 splits at Maison Blanche.
Please make sure to take the branch towards Mairie d’Ivry — not the one towards Villejuif — to reach Porte de Choisy. You’ll recognize me easily: I’ll be wearing a 2024 Paris Olympics cap.
You can also stop in the Maison Blanche lines 7 and 14, but you will have to walk a little bit more, and you should use Google Maps so as not to get lost.
Things to note
Please note that for the 2 temple visits and the church, decent clothing is required, but shorts are accepted. A small donation in the temples (1 euro) is greatly appreciated but not mandatory. Walking shoes, a suncap, and a small bottle of water are a plus.
Almost half of the tour is inside malls and a supermarket, making it easier if the weather is extremely hot.
