Overview
The tour starts at Herrera Square. We walk towards the city walls and then continue to the Santa Ana neighborhood. From there, we re-enter through the route used by the Spanish. Next, I will show you La Merced Church, focusing on its history and architecture, followed by the Mola Museum, if it is open, and San José Church.
We then continue to Plaza Mayor, the Basilica of Santa María la Antigua, the area behind the Presidential Palace, and Bolívar Square. We walk past the National Theatre and then continue to the Arco Chato, a monument that helped make the Panama Canal possible in Panama rather than Nicaragua. The tour ends at Plaza de Francia.
