Nosy Iranja is two islands:
Iranja Be (Great Iranja), the main island! It is on this piece of land that the village, the lighthouse, and our bivouac and meal facilities are located. Several dream white sand beaches, a valley where pineapples and cassava grow (the island's main plantation), and a small hill from where you can admire an exceptional panorama!
Iranja kely (Little Nosy Iranja). It is located on the other side of the sandbar, a private island with a hotel (now closed). This small islet is also the main turtle nesting site in Madagascar.
These two islands are connected by a sandbank that is more than a kilometer long, covered and uncovered, depending on the tides.
