Overview of the tour in New Taipei Jiufen
Before the 1950s, Jiufen and Shifen were gold and coal mining towns, respectively. Today, their rustic vintage vibes, great local Taiwanese delectables, and iconically Taiwanese activities, such as releasing sky lanterns, make them popular day trip destinations from Taipei.
However, these places aren’t the most accessible to visit despite the proximity. Public transportation involves too many transfers across various means, while cab drivers are known to mark up fares to unsuspecting tourists. No one wants to spend additional time and money when those can be spent on better things, such as food. Oh yes, all the great food to be discovered in Taiwan
