Onyango's Walking Tour

This is an organized visit to Kibera, the largest urban settlement in Nairobi and one of the biggest in the world. This tour is designed to provide visitors with a firsthand look at the daily lives of Kibera's residents, highlighting the challenges we face and the vibrant community spirit that exists despite difficult conditions. I will give my guests insights into the community’s history, culture, and social dynamics. I will also explain the origins of the slum, its growth, and current social and economic issues. The tour will include stops at community initiatives such as schools, health clinics, youth centers, and small businesses. These projects often showcase the efforts being made to improve living conditions, provide education, and foster economic development.

Tourists also have the opportunity to interact with residents, hear their stories, and learn about their daily lives, aspirations, and challenges. This direct interaction is a key component of the tour, providing a more personal understanding of life in Kibera.
