Twin Lakes Kayak & Tea Plantation Tour - Musanze Tour
Overview
I’m Joshua. Born and raised in Musanze. RDB certified tour guide. I run Misozi Safari Tour Guides.
On this tour we will:
Kayak on the peaceful Twin Lakes Burera and Ruhondo with volcano views
Visit a local tea plantation and learn how Rwandan tea is grown and processed
Walk through tea fields and take photos of the green mountains
Hear stories about local life, culture and the lake communities
This is a free tour. Tips are welcome but not required.
Suggested tip: 15k to 25k RWF
What to bring: Comfortable shoes, water, sunscreen, hat, camera

Meeting point: Main entrance of Muhabura Hotel.
How to find me:
Come to Muhabura Hotel in Musanze town center. I will be standing at the main entrance wearing a pale yellow Misozi Safari shirt.
Muhabura Hotel is well known. Any moto or taxi can take you there.
If you get lost, call or message me. I will send you my number after booking.
Please arrive 5 minutes early so we can start on time.
From Muhabura Hotel we will walk 8 minutes to Musanze Market to start the tour.
Things to note
Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes. We walk the whole time.
What to bring:
Comfortable walking shoes. Water. Light jacket for the caves, it gets cold. Small cash for fruit, snacks, or tips.
Good to know:
This is a free tour. You book for free. At the end, tip what you think it was worth.
We visit real homes, farms, and the market. Please be respectful. Ask before taking photos of people.
Musanze Caves are dark and have stairs. Not good for people with mobility issues or small children.
We start from Muhabura Hotel main entrance, then walk 5 minutes to the market.

How can the tour be free?
Our concept is simple — there is no set price. Instead, you tip your guide at the end of the tour whatever amount feels right to you. Typically, guests give between $10 to €50, depending on their satisfaction and budget.
Most guides accept cash or card payments, or you can do it via our app.
Cancellation policy
You are free to cancel a booking anytime. We kindly remind you to cancel bookings you cannot arrive for. Being reported as absent decreases your customer level points and the benefits you can enjoy.
