Third Reich Tour of Munich
Overview
I will be your guide for the tour or sometimes it will be one of my team. Each guide has their own style and approach, but all are experienced in teaching this topic.
The tour focuses on events that took place in Munich during the 1920s, leading up to Hitler’s rise to power in the 1930s. We’ll cover topics such as Nazi symbolism, ideology, Hitler’s antisemitism, and the destruction of Munich during World War II. We’ll also discuss Hitler’s early life in Austria, World War I, the formation of the National Socialist Party, and key events like the famous Beer Hall Putsch.
The maximum group size is 16 people, offering a more personal experience that encourages discussion and questions.
This activity includes:
- Odeonsplatz
- Marienplatz
- Viktualienmarkt
- Hofbräuhaus München
- 2.5 hour tour
- 15 minute break
- Visiting memorials
Our Guides
On arrival
You'll find us standing in front of the Carl Thomass store on Marienplatz. The guide will be holding a white umbrella that says 'Heart of Munich Tours.' Don't be late! Please arrive at least 5/10 minutes before the tour starts so that we can sign you in. We start the tour on time.
If you are late, do not panic. We will stay at the meeting point for the first few minutes, but always contact us if you know you will be late. We'll do our best to make sure you can still join the tour.
Things to note
I've been a professional tour guide in Munich since 2017 and, during this time, have received hundreds of five-star reviews across multiple platforms.
Tours run from May to December. In Summer, I will keep you in the shade, and in winter, I will get you indoors or undercover during parts of the tour. What’s important to me is making sure you are comfortable. Please prepare in winter, as temperatures can be as low as -5°C/23°F. (December – March)
Also, please be aware that I run some of the Third Reich tours myself, and the rest are covered by my experienced team of guides.
