Overview
This is NOT a classic Old Town tour with the usual sights. As a Munich native, I’ll take you to the green and blue places that make this city so special for me. We’ll visit classics like the Isar River and the English Garden, but also discover quieter corners, city streams, bridges, islands and squares that play a special role in everyday life for many locals.
Of course, history won’t be missing either. Some of the places we visit have shaped Munich for centuries. So you’ll not only learn where it’s beautiful and shady, but also why these places mattered for the city’s development and what they mean for Munich’s way of life today.
And yes: cooling down is not just the theme of this tour, it’s part of the experience! There will be a chance to dip your feet in the water or even take a quick jump into the Isar. We’ll refill our water bottles at public drinking fountains and stop at Munich’s most popular Isar kiosk, known for its huge selection of cold drinks.
Look forward to a relaxed summer tour with historical insights, personal anecdotes, green favourite spots, little moments to cool down and plenty of tips for what else to do in and around Munich.
Hope to see you soon!
