Overview
Step into a world of flowing lines, floral facades, and hidden beauty on this unique Art Nouveau walking tour through Munich’s fascinating Schwabing.
The best: You will spray paint 4 postcards of the coolest Art Nouveau buildings we've visited.
Around 1900, Schwabing was the heart of Munich’s Bohemian life, attracting creative minds like Wassily Kandinsky, Thomas Mann, Paul Klee, and Rainer Maria Rilke.
Led by a passionate tour guide and architect, this tour explores the elegant charm and radical creativity of Jugendstil, the German version of Art Nouveau, which was born right here in Munich in 1896.
What You’ll Discover:
- Stunning façades, decorative details, and bold buildings that defined a new artistic era
- The fascinating history of Jugendstil and its roots in Munich’s bohemian culture
- Stories of rebellious artists, visionary architects, and the rise of Schwabing as Munich’s creative heart
- Architectural insights from someone who speaks the language of design
This is more than a tour; it’s a walk through art history told from the streets of Schwabing and brought to life through the eyes of an architect.
