Munich Old City Free Tour

Overview of the tour in Munich

Please book at least 24 hours on forehand. The tour takes place when at least 7 persons have signed up for the tour.
Right now the tours take place according to the 2Gplus rules, meaning you have to be fully vaccinated and you have to bring an official negative quick covid-19 test from the day the tour takes place and of course masks.

We will meet on "Marienplatz" in front of the "Deutsche Bank" - look for the man with the dark brown cowboy hat. After getting to know each other with an introduction to the history of Munich we will "take off" with the oldest church in Munich "Saint Peter". Then will cross "Marienplatz" with the old and the new city hall to the "Cathedral Church of Our Lady - Frauenkirche". From there we'll pass through Emperor's fortress and the biggest city castle in Germany the "Residenz" to reach "Fieldmarschalsshall".

The "Viktualien Market" - our next stop - offers 1807 local products. Here our tour will end.

On arrival

You reach Marienplatz by subway or by walking from Karlsplatz/Stachus. We meet on Marienplatz at the "Hugendouble Corner". You recognize me by my brown cowboy hat.

Things to note

In case of very bad weather - storm, thunderstorm, heavy snow, or similar - the tour might be canceled. Otherwise, bring an umbrella and a raincoat.

Minimum 7 participants are required for the tour to take place. Maximum 30.
The tour includes visits to churches and requires modest clothing or making sure you bring it.
It's a walking tour. That means comfortable shoes are required (10 cm high heels do not comply with this definition! Also, not flip-flops!). If you have a medical condition that might limit walking, consider avoiding the tour.
