Overview

From the Town Hall square, we will reach the prestigious Catalans Church, the Royal Chapel of the Spanish kings in Sicily.
We will then walk towards the Cathedral and its sophisticated bell tower.
We will point at the best view in Messina: the Church of Montalto and the Sanctuary of Cristo Re from the Cathedral's square.
We will then move on to the Vittorio Emanuele Gallery, and the refined Post Office and Telegraph Palace.
We will end the tour with a tasting of the delicious Sicilian granita and brioche: fresh and perfect for the summer!
And I will tell you the story of this famous Sicilian sweet specialty!

On arrival
You will find me in front of the town hall (Palazzo Zanca), in Piazza Unione Europea, just a couple of minutes away from the harbour of Messina.
I'll be carrying the Sicilian red and yellow flag.

The tour is for small groups of up to ten people and is available in Italian, English, German, and Spanish.
The Cathedral will be visited both from the outside and, on availability, on the inside. Suitable clothes (no swimming suits or shorts, for example) are suggested during the visit.
The granita tasting is included in the tour; you will not pay any additional costs for it.
Make sure you are well protected against the sun on hot days and that you have a bottle of water with you.
Since this tour includes uneven ground and steps, this tour is not recommended for people with reduced mobility or those using wheelchairs.
