Guided Tour to Murgia Timone and Belvedere with Transfer and Ticket
Overview
Accompanied by a licensed guide, you will explore one of the most fascinating landscapes of the Matera area, including scenic trails, natural caves, traces of the Neolithic village and evidence of the first human communities that inhabited this area.
Along the way you will visit the Crypt of San Falcione and the rock church of Madonna delle Tre Porte, famous for their Byzantine frescoes and their historical and spiritual value.
You will also pass through the Golgotha area, chosen by Mel Gibson for some scenes in the film The Passion of the Christ, before reaching the Belvedere of Murgia Timone. From here you will be able to admire one of the most iconic views of the Sassi of Matera, made even more evocative by the light of sunset.

On arrival
Entrance ticket (€ 4.50 per person) to the Park of the Rock Churches to access the Murgia Timone and Belvedere must be paid on site.
The Murgia Park tour starts from 3 Alessandro Volta Street. It is recommended to follow these directions to easily reach the meeting point.
Arrival by car:
If you arrive by car, you can park in one of the nearby paid parking lots, such as Parking Via Saragat or Parking Via Lucana.
From the parking lot, a short walk of about 5-10 minutes will take you to 3 Via Alessandro Volta.
