Murgia Park Adventure
Overview
Tour itinerary:
Starting point: Meet the guide and transfer to the Murgia Materana Park, a protected area and UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Nature trail: Panoramic walk among the paths of the Murgia, with spectacular views of the Sassi di Matera and the Gravina, the deep natural canyon that characterizes the area.
Visit to rock churches: Exploration of the most striking rock churches in the park, including:
Madonna delle Tre Porte: Featuring medieval frescoes and rock-cut architecture.
San Falcione: An ancient church with unique niches and artistic details. The guide will tell the history of these places, explaining the role of rock monasticism and the connection between Matera and the Murgia Park.
Return: After admiring the park's beauty, the tour concludes with a return to the starting point.

On arrival
Entrance ticket (€ 4.50 per person) to the Park of the Rock Churches to access the Murgia Timone and Belvedere must be paid on site.
The Murgia Park tour departs from Via Alessandro Volta 3. It is recommended to follow these directions to easily reach the meeting point.
Arrival by car:
If you arrive by car, you can park in one of the nearby paid parking lots, such as Parking Via Saragat or Parking Via Lucana.
From the parking lot, a short walk of about 5-10 minutes will take you to 3 Via Alessandro Volta.
