Overview
Los Llanos de Aridane fuses Canarian tradition, pre-Hispanic past and modern art in a pedestrian circuit that connects colonial architecture with the CEMFAC project, a world-renowned open-air museum. The tour highlights the Plaza de España with its centuries-old laurels, the historic Plaza Chica, ideal for observing local daily life and observing the old houses of traditional Canarian architecture with their tea-pine balconies, the main historic artery. This is where the wealthiest families lived, first linked to the sugar trade and later to the banana trade.
Church of Los Remedios. The most important religious temple of the city, built in the 16th century, which houses the image of the patron saint of the municipality and is in the Flemish style.
El Llano de Argual, majestic manor houses of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries as the Casa del Conde or Casa Poggio Maldonado, built by former landowners of sugar cane. We will visit the blown glass workshop and the Ermita de San Pedro, a small and well preserved religious building of this colonial enclave.
The Antonio Gómez Felipe Park, an urban oasis with native flora and Gaudí-inspired mosaics.
