Royal & Political London Tour: Wellington Arch to Westminster
Overview
Along the way you'll see Wellington Arch and the Royal Artillery Memorial, walk down Constitution Hill past the Memorial Gates, take in Buckingham Palace and the Victoria Memorial, pass through Canada Gate and down The Mall to Admiralty Arch, then along Whitehall past Great Scotland Yard, Horse Guards, Downing Street and the Cenotaph, before finishing at Big Ben, Parliament Square, and Westminster Abbey.
Expect real stories, not just facts: the man who broke into the Queen's bedroom in 1982, three assassination attempts on Queen Victoria on the same stretch of road, the Nazi plan to steal Nelson's Column, and hidden details — like a secret carved nose at Admiralty Arch — most people walk past without knowing.
I've studied politics, giving me a strong grounding in the UK's politics, directly relevant to the Whitehall and Parliament sections. I'm also a native Londoner, fluent in Hindi and Urdu.
Generously paced, walking and storytelling only.

On arrival
Meet at the Royal Artillery Memorial — the war memorial with the large stone gun on top, standing directly opposite Wellington Arch, Hyde Park Corner. Take the Piccadilly line to Hyde Park Corner tube station and follow signs for Wellington Arch — it's the same traffic island you'll come up into. I'll be right by the memorial, facing the arch, holding a grey umbrella so I'm easy to spot
