Overview
A short way downriver lies Greenwich, where Britain measured the seas, the stars and time itself. This is where the world's clocks are set from, where Tudor kings and queens were born, and where the Royal Navy trained beneath some of England's finest buildings. It's London at its grandest and most surprising.
We'll start beside the Cutty Sark, the last great tea clipper, then walk through Sir Christopher Wren's Old Royal Naval College, built on the Tudor palace where Henry VIII and Elizabeth I were born. We'll pass the Queen's House and the Maritime Museum, then climb through Greenwich Park to the Royal Observatory. Here you can stand astride the Prime Meridian — one foot in each hemisphere — and hear how Britain solved the great problem of longitude. From the hilltop comes the finest view in London — the river, Canary Wharf and the City beyond — before we wind back down through Greenwich Market.
You'll get the real London — the history, the science and the human stories — from someone who actually grew up here, not from a script. This walk is pay-what-you-feel: come along, enjoy a few hours, and give whatever you think it was worth.
