Overview

Few fictional characters are as closely tied to a city as Sherlock Holmes is to London. Join our Free Sherlock Holmes Walking Tour and explore the streets, stories, and locations that inspired Arthur Conan Doyle’s legendary detective.

Starting in Piccadilly Circus, beside the fountain, this guided tour visits famous hotels, gentlemen’s clubs, and atmospheric streets featured in classic stories such as The Hound of the Baskervilles and A Scandal in Bohemia. You’ll also stop at London’s only Sherlock Holmes Pub, a highlight for fans of the great sleuth.

No prior knowledge is needed — the tour includes locations used in Sherlock Holmes film and TV adaptations, featuring Benedict Cumberbatch, Robert Downey Jr., and Jeremy Brett. Along the way, learn about Conan Doyle’s life, his friendship with Oscar Wilde, and his surprising belief in the paranormal.

This 2-hour Sherlock Holmes walking tour finishes at the historic Lyceum Theatre and is perfect for Holmes fans, literature lovers, families, couples, and solo travelers.

Please note, groups larger than six people and educational groups must arrange a private tour in advance.
