Overview of the tour in Lisbon

Join a tour to the Castelo São Jorge (St. George's Castle) which overlooks the River Tejo and the oldest part of Lisbon. The route follows the oldest walls of the city as it visits the borough of Alfama and the Castle, and then goes back in time to the Roman Olisipo and visit its theater. Learn about how the Romans discovered the thermal waters of Alfama and then the Muslims who gave them the name al-hamma (thermal fountain).

The tour features authentic narrow alleys, interior patios, stairways and tiny squares. In the city you'll encounter the tree different major religions of the past: Judaism, Muslim and Christian. Alfama was a destination for fishermen and its spirit lives on every corner where Fado songs can be heard. This walking tour takes you to the heart of the city!

On arrival

The meeting point is at Campo das Cebolas, Casa dos Bicos. The house that is covered in spikes!
