Walking Tour & Visit to the San Francisco Catacombs Museum

Throughout the tour, we’ll talk about Lima Cathedral, the Government Palace, City Hall, and the Archbishop’s Palace of Lima, as well as the balconies that jut out over the entire plaza. We’ll also see the Taulichusco stone in the Santa Rosa passageway, named in honor of the saint from Lima.

We’ll visit the Peruvian Chocolate Museum to sample chocolates and pisco, then continue along Calle del Pecado y la Carne, where we’ll see two important buildings: the House of Peruvian Literature and the famous Bar Cordano, the oldest bar in downtown Lima. Then we’ll continue to the Convent of San Francisco, which features a beautiful Mudejar-style dome, one of the most beautiful libraries in the world, choir stalls, paintings by Peter Paul Rubens, and ivory carvings, among other attractions.

To wrap up the tour, we’ll visit Parque de la Muralla, where we’ll see what remains of the city, learn about its significance, observe the social contrast against the backdrop of San Cristóbal Hill, and explore a mini-zoo.
