Free Walking Tour of Lima & Pisco Sour
Overview
The route continues past the Casa O’Higgins, linked to South American independence, and arrives at the Plaza Mayor, founded in 1535, where you’ll find the Government Palace, Lima Cathedral, the Archbishop’s Palace, and the historic bronze fountain. You’ll also learn about the history of Francisco Pizarro’s former palace and the capital’s political and religious significance.
The tour includes the House of Peruvian Literature, the Convent of San Francisco—famous for its catacombs and colonial architecture—and ends at Parque de la Muralla, where you can admire the Rímac River and the remains of the fortifications that protected Lima during the viceregal era.

On arrival
We will meet at the corner of the Hotel Bolívar, located at the intersection of Jr. Ocoña and Jr. de la Unión, across from Plaza San Martín, in Lima's Historic Center.
Things to note
The tour is on foot and lasts approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.
We recommend wearing comfortable shoes, applying sunscreen, wearing a hat or cap, and bringing a bottle of water.
The tour takes place regardless of weather conditions, so it’s advisable to bring an umbrella or raincoat during the rainy season.
The Free Walking Tour operates on a voluntary tip basis at the end of the tour.
We recommend arriving at the meeting point 10 to 15 minutes before the tour begins.
