Overview
The tour will start with a walk from Plaza San Martín, dedicated to the Argentine liberator José de San Martín, who declared Peru's independence on July 28, 1821. Then, we will walk along Jirón de la Unión to admire the area's eclectic architecture until we reach Plaza Mayor, Lima's Spanish foundation site on January 18, 1535, by Francisco Pizarro.
We will visit the San Francisco Convent, then enjoy a traditional Pisco Sour. We will then visit the Lima Cathedral (closed on Sundays). Finally, we will visit the Santo Domingo Convent, where the tombs of Saint Rose of Lima (the first Catholic saint of the Americas) and Saint Martin de Porres are located. The tour will conclude at Alameda Chabuca Granda.
