Overview
Hello, and welcome. My name is Milagros, and I’ll be your guide on this adventure through the historic center, where we’ll visit all of the city’s attractions, starting with an overview of the historic center, the Lima Cathedral, the Government Palace, and City Hall. We’ll see the Taulichusco Stone, which is a tribute to the last curaca, or Inca ruler.
Then we’ll head to the Chocolate Museum for a tasting and an explanation of the process for making cocoa-based products. We’ll visit the Cordano Bar, the House of Peruvian Literature, and explore one of the most important museums at the Convent of St. Francis of Assisi, where we’ll see one of the most beautiful libraries in the world, the choir stalls, and the largest cemetery from the colonial era beneath the church—known as the catacombs due to its resemblance to those in Rome.
Next, we’ll head to a pisco tasting to discover the country’s signature drink. Having access to a guide with an official ID ensures you’ll be able to enter the museums privately and quickly. Remember, this is just a glimpse of what an incredible time we’ll have.
