Hiking to Alax Pacha Viewpoint & Valle de las Animas
Overview
Then, we will continue walking along the ridge to the Alax Pacha viewpoint, the main place to take pictures of the landscape. Depending on the weather conditions, we can have a snack and rest there, or move to a less exposed site. Then we will begin the descent down the side of the valley to a dirt road that will lead us directly to the Valley of the Souls. From this point to the exit, we will be able to appreciate all kinds of columns and labyrinthine pinnacles that simulate petrified spirits whose shapes contrast beautifully with the sunset light. At the end, we will take the Puma Katari bus back to downtown La Paz.

On arrival
Plaza Sucre (better known as Plaza San Pedro) is located two blocks from the end of the Prado, up Colombia Street. It is a very busy meeting point. In case you can't locate it on a map, you can also ask for directions to the San Pedro jail or the San Pedro church. Both places are located around Sucre square.
Things to note
Any minibus that indicates that it is going to SAN PEDRO will take you to the meeting point (read the signs on the windshield). When you are close (about a block away) you should shout "en la plaza me quedo, por favor" for the bus to stop. Walking to the meeting point is also a viable option as long as you are staying near the center of La Paz (due to traffic congestion, sometimes it is better to walk). And if you are in the southern area of La Paz it is much better to get personalized directions to provide you with an alternative meeting point.
