Free Walking Tour Around the Hércules Tower

Overview of the tour in La Coruna

The Torre de Hércules declared World Heritage Site, has the honor of being the oldest lighthouse still in operation today. Until 2021 it was the only lighthouse to hold the title since 2009.

This visit does not include entrance or access to the interior of the lighthouse as it has about 240 steps that not all attendees want or can climb.

Interesting are also the legends that exist about the Tower of Hercules, some involve the demigod Hercules and the foundation of Crunia, and others about the Celtic King Breogán who invaded the Isle of Eire.

Our visit is not only about the Tower's ancient history but also about the open-air museum located in its surroundings and the more than 15 sculptural works. Our meeting point is one of them, the Statue of Breogán, the work of Master José Cid, that guards the access to the area.

The environmental quality of the area, the natural space, the Atlantic Ocean, and of course the Tower of Hercules, the muse, and landscape of great artists such as Urbano Lugrís, Francisco Llorens, and of course, Pablo Ruiz-Picasso's "Tower of Caramel", who captured the area so many times during his youth when living in A Coruña.

Things to note

* Wear comfortable walking shoes.
* This visit DOES NOT INCLUDE ACCESS TO TORRE DE HERCULES
* Free payment for each attendee at the end of the visit.
* It is requested to be in advance at the start time of the activity.
* Punctuality is important. Reservations for visits will be held for 5 minutes after the start of the visit. Once this time has elapsed, the places will be released from the waiting list.
* In the case of not attending, it is requested and appreciated that the reservation be canceled or communicated so that the guide is not waiting and consequently make the rest of the attendees wait. Likewise, the places would be available for other people. The link to cancel the reservation or how to contact us is included in the reservation confirmation received.
* Reservations of more than 6 people in the same group of friends/family are not allowed. In case of making separate reservations for a group larger than 6 people, the guide can refuse the attendees at the same meeting point.
* The client can request a receipt for their payment or claim forms.
