Overview
We will meet at Hans Cosmos Yoga and start our walk, witnessing local houses and the history of entrance of various religion and lifestyles of the Muslim, Hindu, and Christian communities in the area. We will explore the Syrian Christian history community, featuring a 1653 cross and a church built in Egyptian architectural style.
Next, we’ll visit warehouses filled with pepper and ginger and experience the spice market, where the aroma of spices fills the air. Enjoy identifying different spices by their scents. You’ll also witness women working on the ginger drying process and the pepper cleaning process.
We will explore art galleries and visit the Dutch Palace, which you can visit inside. This palace is now a museum. It is closed on Fridays but open until 4:50 PM every other day. Inside the museum, you’ll find maps, murals, the king’s weapons, a palanquin, traditional dress styles, and insights into the king’s lifestyle and history.
We will visit Jew Town & the Jewish Synagogue, which is open until 5:55 PM, except on Saturdays. On Fridays, it closes at 2:00 PM.
From here we reach fort Kochi via tuktuk or walk witnessing Jewish cemetery & temples on the way. Fort tour continue.
