Sea, Stone & Street Life: Kavala Walking Tour
Overview
Meet at the bustling port, where ships once carried tobacco, goods, and people across the Mediterranean, shaping Kavala’s history and identity. Walk uphill to the historic Panagia district, passing narrow streets and traditional houses filled with stories of daily life, migration, and community.
We will walk along the Castle of Kavala, offering breathtaking panoramic views and fascinating tales of pirates, defense, and city survival. Optional pause briefly at a local bakery for a taste of traditional cookies.
On the way down, admire the impressive Kamares Aqueduct and learn how water infrastructure fueled growth. Finish in the modern market area, seeing family shops, cafes, and local routines while hearing personal insights from your guide.
Experience Kavala like a local while discovering its layers of history, culture, and everyday life.
*The tour is moderately demanding due to uphill streets in the Old Town and is not recommended for guests with significant mobility issues.*
This activity includes:
- Kavala-Old town
