Hidden Gems of Kaunas - Free Walking Tour
Overview of the tour in Kaunas
Kaunas is blessed with a cozy environment- spacious fine buildings, two rivers converging into one, and plenty of trees.
It was once a castle, then a fortress city and later it became the cultural and political center of the whole country. Now it is a small, quiet town with a distinctive culture, where the townspeople themselves create a big part of the environment.
The tour will give you a sense of what Kaunas is all about, presenting the most important parts of the city as well as seeing the "hidden gems". I believe that you need to see not only the "big things" but the hidden parts as well. Those details tell not less important stories.
You will visit:
-Old Kaunas Post Office
-Site of Romas Kalanta self- immolation
-Courtyard Gallery
-Central Bank of Lithuania
-Local years
-Interwar modernist architecture buildings
