Overview
Discover the history of Jaca on a tour of the first capital of the Kingdom of Aragon and one of the most important cities on the Camino de Santiago. We’ll stroll past the imposing Citadel, or Castle of San Pedro—one of the best-preserved Renaissance fortresses in Europe—before heading into the historic district.
We’ll visit the Cathedral of San Pedro, one of the great jewels of Spanish Romanesque architecture, and enter it free of charge to learn about its history and admire its most important treasures. We’ll continue through the Plaza de la Catedral, the Lonja Chica, Calle del Obispo, and the lively Calle Mayor, discovering the city’s evolution, its traditions, and the hidden gems tucked away in its nooks and crannies.
The tour will end at Plaza Marqués de la Cadena, next to the historic Clock Tower, a symbol of medieval Jaca. An essential tour to discover the heritage, legends, and essence of a city that played a key role in the history of Aragon.
