Overview
Walking route of 1:30 h through the municipality of Icod de los Vinos. Meeting point Lorenzo Cáceres square. Here the main church and the famous Drago Milenario, in a park with a variety of endemic plants.
About the park, a nice butterfly garden full of butterflies in freedom and many variety of plants necessary for their survival, turtles .... There is also the house of the banana.
We will continue to the Plaza de la pila first square built in the municipality, where there is a wine cellar, Malvasia wine museum where you can also try some cheese from the island and the canary mojos. In this area a variety of historic houses of more noble families of the time. One of the most striking houses is the Casa del Drago where you can have a drink or a meal on a very traditional Canarian terrace. We will pass by the Town Hall of Icod de los Vinos, also an important construction with another church with typical Canarian architecture.
At the end of the tour, the ex-convent of the Franciscans, today a municipal library..., with typical Canarian convent architecture and Portuguese elements. A walk in a valuable corner of Icod, a beautiful municipality of the island.
