Highlights of the city of Heidelberg - Free Walking Tour
Overview
That feeling of taking your first steps through the winding alleys, strolling through historic squares, discovering cozy cafés, restaurants and local stores - THAT is what I want to share with you. And along the way, we'll delve into Heidelberg's eventful history and the events that have shaped the city and its inhabitants.
I'll not only show you the most beautiful postcard motifs and tell you why the castle is a ruin, but much more: why a monkey is a landmark of Heidelberg, which Japanese café you shouldn't miss, what the Heiliggeistkirche had in common with East and West Germany, why Heidelberg was already important 600,000 years ago - and much more.
This activity includes:
- Kornmarkt
- Old Bridge Heidelberg
- Hotel Zum Ritter St. Georg
- Heiliggeistkirche - Peterskirche - Hexenturm
- Studentenkarzer
- Brückenaffe
- Peterskirche
- Heidelberg University Library
On arrival
I will be waiting for you in front of the Hotel Zum Ritter St. Georg. I have a purple folder with me by which you can recognize me.
About the meeting point - the Hotel zum Ritter St. Georg is right next to the Heiliggeistkirche; it is marked on Google Maps. It is very easy to reach on foot and is centrally located in the old town. It is located opposite a Hans im Glück.
Things to note
Depending on the weather, you should bring the essentials with you - sunscreen, umbrella, something to drink, etc.
As we will be walking for about 1.5 hours, please wear suitable footwear - even if we are not going to hike up the Königsstuhl.
I offer the tour free of charge - if you like it, I would be happy to receive a tip, but in the end everyone decides for themselves :)
