Discover Haarlem Tour: Beyond Amsterdam
Overview
As we wander through squares, churches, canals, and hidden corners, we’ll explore how Haarlem has been shaped by resistance, resilience, and its ability to reinvent itself. From its medieval origins and the Spanish siege of 1572–1573 to the Dutch Golden Age, tulip mania, the great artists of the 17th century, and the resistance during the Nazi occupation, each stop reveals a new facet of the city.
We’ll visit iconic sites such as the Grote Markt, St. Bavo’s Church, the historic hofjes, the merchants’ canals, and the iconic De Adriaan windmill. We’ll discover extraordinary figures, surprising stories, and details that many travelers overlook.
