Overview
One day tour in Guimarães and Vizela, two of the most beautiful and rich cities in the Minho Region.
The tour starts in Guimarães and I would take you to the 10th-century castle used to defend against the moors and show its elegant 15th-century palace. I would walk you through the Largo of the Oliveira, one of the most well-known medieval plazas in Guimarães, and lose ourselves in the maze of cobbled streets. We would finish our morning by having a local dish in a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, time permitting, we would travel to Vizela, a city well-known for its therapeutic waters, of thermal origin where you can have a massage these days. This city is known for its Roman architecture, with its roman bridge, 2000 years, still open. This city also has an amazing natural park, where you can breathe and relax and observe 100-year sequoias! We can do this by tasting one of Vizela’s most-known cakes.
