Alhambra, Generalife, and Alcazaba Tour: Excluding the Nasrid Palaces
Overview
Visit the Alhambra in a very small group and beat the heat!
The Alhambra is one of the world’s most important monuments, a World Heritage Site, and a National Monument.
If you have the ticket mentioned above, we’ll visit the Alcazaba of the Alhambra—its oldest military section—which offers the best views of the city (the Albaicín, the Vega de Granada, and the Sierra Nevada).
You’ll have the chance to climb several towers in the Alcazaba—the tallest, with 69 steps, is for the brave! The tour also includes a visit to the Renaissance palace of Charles I, where I’ll explain its history and symbolism, along with all its fascinating details! Finally, in the gardens of the Generalife Palace (also known as the Nasrid Palace), we’ll explore the sultans’ summer estate with its stunning gardens, orchards, and fountains that flow continuously. The views of the entire Alhambra complex and the Albaicín are spectacular.
Admission tickets are not included in the price listed per person.

On arrival
I’ll be at the Puerta de la Justicia gate at the Alhambra 15 minutes before the tour starts. You can get there by walking up Cuesta de Gómerez from downtown (if you’re in pretty good shape, it’s about a 15-minute walk uphill to our meeting point), or you can quickly take a red minibus from Plaza Isabel la Católica—they run frequently and will get you to the monument in just a few minutes. If the minibus drops you off in front of the Las Mimbres restaurant, near the ticket office, you’ll need to walk straight down to the meeting point where I’ll be waiting at the Great Gate of Justice.
(It’s just a few minutes’ walk downhill.)
Things to note
Please be sure to arrive at the meeting point on time, 10–15 minutes before the start of our tour.
- Each visitor must bring their original passport or national ID card—never a photo!
Everyone must have their admission ticket, including children. Adults accompanying children who do not have an ID card must bring their family register.
- Depending on the size of the group, audio guides must be used in accordance with ALHAMBRA REGULATIONS.
(For example, for groups of 2 to 4 people, the guide does not need to rent audio guides.) For larger groups, audio guides are required.
The cost is separate for the customer; renting each audio guide typically costs 2 to 3 € per person, and you must pay the guide, who will provide a receipt.
This will allow you to enter the monument with the group.
- Wear comfortable shoes.
- Do not bring selfie sticks for photos.
- It is prohibited to touch the monument, lean on columns, pick flowers, or eat.
- There is a specific area for eating; in most parts of the monument, it is prohibited to eat or drink coffee, soft drinks, etc.
- Strollers must be left in the lockers provided inside the Alhambra.
Cancellation policy
Free Cancellation up to 24 hours before the activity starts. Late cancellation or your non-arrival is not refundable.
