Overview
Glasgow is the third-largest city in the United Kingdom and one of the most touristic in Scotland. It was a small medieval town, but when Scotland finally joined England in the early 18th century, it became part of a sprawling colonial empire, growing its small fishing port into a large trading port.
Thanks to this colonial trade and certain technological advances, the Industrial Revolution hatched here in Glasgow, becoming one of the most important cities of the British Empire.
But in the 20th century, the city fell into a deep decline. The population declined at the same time that unemployment increased. Entire families lived on government subsidies, and crime was the order of the day. But then Glasgow's story changed again. The history of Glasgow is a story of overcoming and its inhabitants the Glaswegians are a people that have their origin in emigrants, brave people who at the time were able to go out to meet the future. People are capable of reinventing themselves over and over again to be a great city in the 21st century.
For groups of more than 6 people, even if booking separately, you will need to pay the guide £10 per person at the start of the tour.
