Discover the three pillars of the "City of Stone" on this streamlined, easy-paced 2-hour walking tour. Designed to avoid the most treacherous, slippery slopes, we take a comfortable route through Gjirokastër's grandest history, making it accessible and highly engaging.Our journey follows a perfect historical trilogy:
The Castle: we stand beneath the towering, historic fortress walls to uncover medieval legends, military secrets, and the city’s defensive origins.
The Bazaar: we descend into the vibrant, century-old Ottoman market crossroads to see local master craftsmen at work and admire the non-slip cobblestones.
The Dictator: we enter the historic old neighborhood to visit the birthplace of Albania's notorious communist dictator, Enver Hoxha (now the Ethnographic Museum).
Important note: museum and fortress interior entry tickets are not included. This gives you the flexibility to enjoy the beautiful exterior architecture and stories with the group, or purchase a ticket at the end to explore the museum rooms at your own pace together with the guide.
