Overview

This is Galway's only mythology-focused walking tour, crafted with passion and deep knowledge of Ireland’s mystical traditions.

Galway is a city of stories, and on this tour, we’ll follow the path of Ireland’s legendary storytellers. Our Galway adventure kicks off at Galway Cathedral. We'll stroll the tranquil Eglinton Canal, spotting wildlife (swans, cranes, maybe otters!) and sharing Corrib tales. Next, explore Galway's vibrant Westend, a hidden gem of authentic food and music, with tips for your evening.

Then, it's off to Claddagh Quay for panoramic Galway Bay views, delving into its Celtic/Anglo-Norman roots and river mouth insights, perhaps even spotting seals and dolphins, while sharing legends of shapeshifters, the Claddagh Ring, and warrior kings. We'll follow the captivating River Corrib canal from Wolftone Bridge to Salmon Weir Bridge.

Our tour culminates at the University of Galway's majestic Quadrangle, the oldest building, for stories carved in stone and fascinating tales of Irish fairies and monsters.

Whether you’re a folklore fanatic, history lover, or just curious to see Galway through a magical lens, this experience will make your visit unforgettable.

We recommend comfortable shoes, weather-appropriate clothing (this is Galway, after all!), and a bit of curiosity. An umbrella or rain jacket can also be handy, just in case.

The route is mostly flat and easy to walk. We move at a relaxed pace, with plenty of stops to enjoy the sights, stories, and atmosphere of Galway.
