Historic Galle Fort E-bike Adventure
Overview
Explore the historic coastal city of Galle on a 2.5–3 hour guided retro e-bike tour, starting from our office. After a short safety briefing, bottled water, helmets, and your retro e-bike are provided (riders must be 154cm/5'1" and confident cyclists). Ride 4.5km along the scenic south coast road to the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort, with insights from our experienced English-speaking guide.
Pedal past lively local scenes, fishermen, markets, and colonial-era buildings. Enter Galle Fort through the old gate and cycle through its 52-hectare spread of European architecture and heritage sites: the Dutch Reformed Church (1707), National Maritime Museum, Meera Mosque, All Saints Church, Clock Tower, Lighthouse, and more.
Continue through the 1873 New Entrance and explore the vibrant Galle fruit market and the Old Dutch Market (Green Market), established in 1880. End your ride with fresh local fruit juice and snacks at a nearby café. The tour concludes either at our office or inside the Fort, your choice.

Our tour begins at the Chameera Cycling Office in Unawatuna.
Address: Galle–Matara Road, Unawatuna (near Eramudugaha Junction)
How to Find Us: From the Galle–Matara main road, turn at Eramudugaha Junction onto Heenatigala Road (just after passing the Unawatuna Railway Station). Drive or walk approximately 300 meters down Heenatigala Road. On your left-hand side, you will see the Chameera Cycling signboard.

Things to note
Departure Time: Flexible, but we recommend 8:30 am in the morning and 2:30 pm in the evening to avoid the midday heat. Minimum age 14 years old for Retro E-Bike (teenagers of 14-15 years old must be accompanied by an adult). Minimum rider height is 5 feet (152cm). Our electric bikes are designed with a maximum weight capacity of 250 pounds (113 kg). Whilst experience riding an electric bike is not necessary (we'll provide an orientation and a test ride to ensure you're comfortable before we head off), you must, of course, be able to ride a bike. If you haven't ridden in a while, for your enjoyment and the safety of your fellow riders, we strongly recommend taking a practice ride at home before visiting the Tour.
Free Cancellation
Free Cancellation up to 24 hours before the activity starts. Late cancellation or your non-arrival is not refundable.
