On arrival
The meeting point is in Santa Catarina Park (Parque de Santa Catarina), next to the small chapel/church just inside the main entrance.
Once you enter the park, head towards the chapel. I’ll be waiting nearby and holding a flower, so I should be easy to spot!
Please arrive 5–10 minutes before the tour starts so we have plenty of time to get everyone together before we begin. I look forward to meeting you and exploring Funchal together!
Things to note
Please wear comfortable shoes, as this is a walking tour through the streets of Funchal, including some uneven and cobbled surfaces.
Madeira’s weather can change quickly, so it’s a good idea to bring a light jacket or rain protection, especially outside the summer months. Sunscreen, a hat and water are also recommended on warmer days.
The tour takes place outdoors and continues in most weather conditions, so please come prepared. In the event of severe weather, I will do my best to provide an alternative or contact you with any necessary information.
There will be opportunities to take photos and ask questions throughout the tour. Feel free to bring your camera and come ready to discover Funchal’s history, stories, traditions and local life!
Most importantly, come with comfortable shoes, curiosity and a sense of adventure.
