Japanese gardens have a very special aura for me.
No matter which Japanese garden I visit, I am always fascinated by the harmony and tranquillity that these places convey. This gave rise to a central question for me: how do garden designers manage to create this feeling so consciously and reliably?
This guided tour is the result of my personal research and involvement with the design of Japanese gardens. On a relaxed walk through the Japanese Garden in the Seepark, I will share my knowledge of typical design elements, symbolic structures and cultural backgrounds.
Together we learn not only to see the garden, but also to read it: Stones, water, plants and paths take on a new meaning and open up deeper access to this special garden art.
At the end of the tour, we return to the entrance - with a sharpened eye, a calmer mind and a better understanding of how Japanese gardens appeal to our perceptions, sensibilities and needs.

We meet on the right in front of the entrance at the information board.
Things to note
The garden is (mostly) a place of peace and quiet and we will behave accordingly during the tour. So not suitable for JGAs ;)
