Overview
From the meeting point, we will head towards the old town of Freiburg and discover its streets, most significant historical buildings, the Bächle (the iconic water canals), the two gate towers, and the Freiburger Minster.
Throughout our tour, I will tell you about the most interesting and important historical events, the town’s transition to the bicycle city we find today, and the regional geology by having a closer look at the building stones of the Minster and paved streets and the town's past mining activities.
The tour ends at the Swabian tower. For those who are still motivated, add 25 minutes to the tour. We will go a little bit higher towards the Schlossberg where you'll have a view over the Rhine Valley. There, you will get an understanding of the earth’s processes in the region that shaped the landscape we find today.
