Évora Free Tour: Mystical Days
Overview
Among the various itineraries we offer, we present here the most classic one: the ROMAN ÉVORA JOURNEY.
About 2,000 years ago, the city of Ebora flourished for four centuries, becoming one of the most prestigious cities in the Roman province of Lusitania. Even today, the city preserves historical traces from that period that can be explored.
The tour begins next to the statue of Garcia de Resende in Évora’s Public Garden, passing through the gate in the city wall. The first stop is the Évora Interpretation Center, still within the garden.
From there, we head to Praça do Giraldo, following the remains of the ancient aqueduct to City Hall, where we visit the Roman Baths.
The route continues on foot along the ancient Roman city wall to the Jardim dos Colegiais.
The next stop takes us to the Páteo de São Miguel, the site of the city’s ancient castle.
Finally, we proceed to the iconic Roman Temple, where this historical journey concludes.

Our Guides
On arrival
The guide will be waiting at the designated meeting point, wearing purple clothing or another agreed-upon identifier so you can recognize him or her.

After you make a reservation, I will contact you to discuss the itinerary details and schedule availability.
Please understand that I run this activity alongside my personal and professional life, so I need you to make your reservation well in advance so that I can keep my schedule open for the scheduled day.
All locations on the tour are accessible on foot and free to visit. At two of them, visits are subject to operating hours (Roman Baths: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Évora City Interpretation Center: Monday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
This tour is part of a series of guided itineraries known as “Jornadas.” Each follows a specific theme or route of monuments and varies in duration.
In addition to the “Roman Évora” Tour, the following are available:
MEGALITHIC TOUR: A tour of ancient megalithic monuments, including the Grande Anta do Zambujeiro and the mystical Cromeleque dos Almendres, following lunar and solar symbolism.
ENDOVÉLICO JOURNEY: A nature hike along the Ribeira do Lucefécit stream to the Endovélico Sanctuary, one of the holiest sites in Celtic Lusitania.
INTERIOR JOURNEY: A personal and therapeutic journey, accompanied by a certified guide, embracing the magic and tranquility of the Passadiços da Serra d’Ossa.

For itineraries to monuments outside the city, transportation is included, and the trip may take up to about 35 minutes.
In the summer, it can sometimes get very hot, and in the winter, it can sometimes get very cold. But if you’re okay with that and wear appropriate clothing, we’ll be there with you. Itineraries may be subject to change due to changes in accessibility to the monuments or the guide’s availability.

You are free to cancel a booking anytime. We kindly remind you to cancel bookings you cannot arrive for. Being reported as absent decreases your customer level points and the benefits you can enjoy.
