Discover Elche: A City of Palms, History & Local Life
Overview
I’m Narine, Swedish, living in Elche, and I’d love to show you this fascinating city and share what makes it so special.
Our tour takes us through the historic heart of Elche and its famous Palmeral, the largest palm grove in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll explore the old streets and discover some of the city’s most important landmarks, including the Basilica of Santa María, while also visiting quieter corners that are easy to miss.
Along the way, I’ll tell you about Elche’s history, traditions, culture and everyday life. We’ll also discover the Misteri d’Elx, a remarkable medieval sacred musical drama, recognised by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
But this is more than a sightseeing tour. I want you to experience the real Elche — its atmosphere, local traditions and way of life. I’ll also be happy to share personal recommendations for restaurants, places to visit and things to do during your stay.
I offer tours in Swedish, English and Russian, creating a friendly and relaxed experience where you can ask questions, take your time and enjoy the city at your own pace.
