Overview

Who sparked the innovations that shaped the 20th century? How did a small Dutch town grow into a global tech hub? And why is Eindhoven called the “City of Light”?

Join me, a lifelong local, for a journey through Eindhoven’s past, present, and future. Hear the story of the Philips family, their inventions that touched millions, and the city’s transformation from humble beginnings to high-tech powerhouse.

We’ll visit the city’s most iconic landmark, 18 Septemberplein, the Philips Museum, Catharinakerk, Stratumseind, and hidden gems only locals know. Along the way, you’ll hear tales of war, resilience, creativity and groundbreaking ideas.

The tour ends at De Effenaar, near lively streets full of great restaurants and bars. Expect fascinating history, inspiring stories, beautiful architecture, and insider tips, all at a relaxed pace, perfect for photos and conversation.

If your preferred time or language isn’t listed or appears sold out, simply book and message me, and we'll try to arrange a suitable time.

I can’t wait to welcome you to Eindhoven!

Meeting point

Statue in front of train station Eindhoven Centraal

On arrival

The meeting point is in front of the train station Eindhoven Centraal, next to the statue. It's a few minutes walk from the bus station Eindhoven Centraal. Other nearby bus stops are 18 September plein and Piazza.

The closest parking spaces are Q Park Bijenkorf (garage) and parking 18 September plein (open air).

You can recognise me by a blue bag and a red and white water bottle.

Things to note

For a comfortable walk, wear shoes suited for walking. On sunny days, bring sunscreen and sunglasses; if rain is in the forecast, an umbrella will be useful. Most stops offer shelter from both sun and rain.
Both inside the train station and across the street is a supermarket where you can buy a drink or snack to go.

Free Cancellation

You are free to cancel a booking anytime. We kindly remind you to cancel bookings you cannot arrive for. Being reported as absent decreases your customer level points and the benefits you can enjoy.
