Cramond Beach & Cramond Island Free Tour
Overview
On arrival, we'll take a walk along the seafront, passing the small harbor, the beach and the famous World War II defense pillars, which are now one of the most photogenic settings in the area.
Depending on the time of the tide, it will be possible to cross the passage linking the mainland to Cramond Island. This crossing is only made when it is safe to do so, during low tide, and allows you to explore the island and enjoy unique views of the sea and the coast.
During the walk there will be several photo opportunities, both on the beach and on the island and along the route.
After the tour, we return to Edinburgh using public transport again.
Approximate duration: 4 hours.

On arrival
We'll meet at the side of The Johnnie Walker Experience building on Princes Street in Edinburgh, where the tour will begin (see photo).
Things to note
- Bring a good mood and a desire to enjoy Edinburgh's scenery and climate.
- The route may be adjusted according to tide times and weather conditions.
- We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for outdoor activities.
- It is advisable to bring water and small snacks, especially on sunny days or when the temperature is higher, as the walk takes place outdoors.
- The crossing between the beach and Cramond Island is optional and will be done at the participant's own expense and responsibility, always respecting safety conditions and the time of the tide.
- The tour includes travel by public transport between Edinburgh and Cramond (round trip). Tickets not included.
- Part of the route is on uneven ground, including sand, rocks and natural paths.
- Suitable for beginners, but not recommended for people with reduced mobility.
- There will be stops for photographs during the walk.
