Free Walking Tour of the Easter Rising in Dublin

A 7-stop tour with a Dublin guide and storyteller. There are 7 stops, just as there were 7 signers of the Declaration of Independence and 7 key figures of the Uprising who will share their stories with us: from the origins of the revolt after 700 years of occupation, through the days of battle, to the path leading to the War of Independence.

Starting at Trinity College, we’ll meet Patrick Pearse, who will speak to us about Irish identity and the Gaelic League.
At the General Post Office, James Connolly will explain his egalitarian vision of the Republic, as set forth in the Proclamation.
At City Hall, we’ll discover, alongside Kathleen Lynn and Countess Markievicz, the vital role women played in the uprising.
At Dublin Castle, we’ll give voice to the citizens of Dublin caught in the crossfire.
At the Four Courts, 25-year-old Edward Daly will demonstrate the courage of the young leaders.
On Moore Street, the story of Joseph Plunkett and his marriage to Grace before his execution at Kilmainham will offer an intimate and romantic glimpse into the lives of the rebels.

Finally, returning to Trinity College, Éamon de Valera—the only surviving leader—will guide us toward the birth of the Irish Free State.
