Overview

A walking tour with a storyteller and music enthusiast living in Dublin, through the main locations that made the history of music in the city—rebuilding the evolution of Irish identity through its soundtrack: from 1960s folk ballads to the modern post-punk boom.

Starting at O'Donoghue's Pub, we relive the birth of the folk revival with The Dubliners, The Wolfe Tones, and Christy Moore. On Grafton Street, we explore the busking culture that shaped Glen Hansard, Damien Rice, and Dermot Kennedy, before stopping at Phil Lynott’s statue to celebrate Thin Lizzy.

After Mary's Pub and the 3Olympia Theatre, we take a stroll along the River Liffey to The Clarence Hotel—site of U2's iconic rooftop performance. We then venture into Temple Bar to explore the Icon Walk and Icon Factory, an underrated pocket in the heart of Dublin city that showcases true underground culture.

Passing The George for a tribute to Sinéad O'Connor, our narrative reaches its peak at Whelan's with Fontaines D.C., before concluding with a peaceful stroll through St. Stephen's Green, following the exact atmosphere evoked by Amble in their song Marlay Park.
