Overview
Program:
Meeting point: 9 am at the Soeurs Salésiennes de Don Bosco in the Zogbo district.
Here, you will visit the girls' home and the alternative school. Afterward, you can purchase textile goods in the tailoring workshop.
Drive to the poor district of Ladji, where the sisters run a pre-school. From there, continue to the "Baraque SOS" at the Dantokpa market (the largest in West Africa). The children who are forced to work at the market are cared for here.
We then walk through the market to the House of the Sun (approx. 15 minutes). Around 10 teenage mothers receive holistic care here, including housing, training opportunities, psychological support, and medical care.
Next door is the House of Hope, where at-risk young people receive training in cuisine, gastronomy, pastry, bakery, cosmetics, soap making, and home economics. There is also a safe place to sleep for young workers from the market.
Afterward, you can enjoy a meal prepared by the young trainees (price between 3000 and 4000 FCFA, optional). This is an opportunity for them to showcase their practical skills.
End of the tour.
